{"id":44,"date":"2011-09-18T03:07:02","date_gmt":"2011-09-18T03:07:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nosefish.org\/?page_id=44"},"modified":"2026-02-21T05:36:57","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T05:36:57","slug":"nosefish-shower","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/nosefish.org\/?page_id=44","title":{"rendered":"Nosefish Shower"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nosefish shower was designed by Howard Cohen in 2006 and has been built and used by countless burners since then.&nbsp; It is simply a PVC shower frame on a short wooden platform built at a slight angle and with a hole in the lowest part, so the shower water can be collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent years, we have moved to a lightweight shower tent and inflatable swimming pool to reduce weight, pack smaller, and shorten assembly time on the playa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We used to filter the gray water, treat it with bleach and sprinkle it on the Playa, but this is now forbidden. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/burningman.org\/event\/preparation\/playa-living\/gray-water\/\">Recommended ways of dealing with gray water<\/a> include taking it home, evaporating it, or hiring a service to haul it away.
